my previous post, it’s one month ago. *& it’s barely a post* ⁽⁽(ཀ д ཀ)⁾⁾
have been so busy, i almost forgotten to catch a breathe.
but, well, all good.
was on family trip, we went #bangkok! ❤
& this is definitely the first photo of siblings & I, on plane.
reached bangkok on 5pm. Inside the terminal, you’ll definitely come across many people who aggressively approaching you asking you if you would like to hire a taxi, and a car or even a van. & we rented a van which cost us 1000baht, from Don Mueng International Airport to our hotel located at Petchaburi Road.
not a cheap deal, but as we were all tired, this big comfy van won our heart. ヽ(ー_ー )ノ
so, this is the hotel we stayed in.
Bangkok City Hotel, it’s 5 mins walking distant from the Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain Station.
It’s a Tune Hotel kind of budget hotel, clean, simple*which means nothing fancy* & comfy, for the price for about 1190 thai baht/night.
If you looking for an affordable stay, cheap, located at the city, with WIFI service *free wifi, even in room* then this is your hotel. Not forgetting their rather good breakfast, helpful front desk staff who speaks english, street foods just right beside it and city view from room, I conclude that I enjoyed my stay there.
Hence, I would highly recommend this!!! d(-_^)
Moving on, it’s dinner time.
My family has a rather sensitive stomach, so we thought of having safe food, & thinking that mall food will be good. Decided to head over to Siam Paragon.
& they said, it’s still in a walking distant from our hotel.
so, we walked about 5-10mins to reach Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain Station, & Paragon mall is still no where to be seen.
Asked the local, they say it’s 5 mins away.
*btw, hie from my loving parents. (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
walked another 10mins, we still dont see any high rise building.
asked another local, again, said 5 mins away.
walked another 10mins, miserably.
& after 15 mins, tadahhhhhh, we are finally in the Siam malls compound.
the mission-completed happy faces. “ヽ(´▽`)ノ”
& we learned that, people will just say, “5 mins, 5 mins,….” as long as its nearby, even if it’s actually 20-30mins away. hmmmm. okay, admit it, we did that too. (¬‿¬)
First meal in Bangkok, MOS burger.
because I miss it so much, & the rest have not tried.
Parents was a lil skeptical, because I brought them to a fast food restaurant when we are in Thailand. But, not until they have the first bite on these yummy burgers! I am glad that they like it pretty much.
*oh, didnt I mentioned, I am sort of a organizer/planner/tourguide for this trip, & I have the whole responsibility to make sure it’a all good.
We had, my favorite Fish Burger, Takokatsu Burger, Pork Cutlet Burger, Ginger Pork Rice Burger, & Terriyaki Chicken Burger.
The soft buns & the unique japanese rice burger, ahh, I already started missing ’em. ლ(´◉❥◉`ლ)
Desset time after dinner @ After You Dessert Café, just because, it’s so highly recommended. There is even a legend that says ‘you have never been to Bangkok until you tried Afteryou dessert”.
It is located at the basement of Siam Paragon, the same level as where MOS burger is located at.
The modern furnishing & homey feel is indeed inviting.
however, it’s cramped & a lil overed busy for you to chillingly enjoy your sweets.
& you got to queue for table, took our number & waited for 15-20mins till we got ourself a table.
Coffee-addict like me can barely live a day without coffee.
thus, my latte. It’s rather milky, but, still good.
& they serve free iced tea too.
we had:
Chocolate toast w/ strawberry (195 baht)- to be honest, it’s definitely not heavenly, but satisfying, yes. (っ˘ڡ˘ς)
Chocolate lava cake (165 baht) – highly raved about on the internet, but fair enough, the best among all. The oozing out melted chocolate is definitely irresistable.ॱ॰⋆(˶ॢ‾᷄﹃‾᷅˵ॢ)ӵᵘᵐᵐᵞ♡♡♡
Baked fuji apple crumble w/ soy custard sauce – it’s just alright, guess you can get better one in KL.
& more #selfie. ヽ(愛´∀`愛)ノ
I definitely love the fact that though we have all grown up, yet feel so comfortable to stay by each other. ❤
in conclusion, personally, i would think that this place is not a MUST-MUST-GO place. but if you are ever at this area, it will be good to make a point to visit them for their chocolate lava.
next off, patpong night market.
It opens from 6pm – 2am. No photo, because we were too busy shopping. There’s also a Naraya shop along the street, a fabric bag and accessory trendsetter brand from Thailand. You will be amazed that all the pretty chio bags all come in reasonable price. We got quite a few from there. There’s plenty of other stalls selling souvenirs & clothes, but if you are not a good negotiator, do not buy here!
also, they will be people approaching you along the street for Tiger/Pingpong show.
beware, do not go, if you are not ready for unpleasant & awful scene, e.g., women shooting ping pong balls out of their vaginas. (/ω\) it is definitely not the family-friendly aqua show. I am thankful that I was warned way earlier.
how to get there:
we took sky train to Sala Daeng Station 2. It’s just 2mins walking distant away from the station.
*me acting all touristy, haha*
Around 12am, we took a taxi back to the hotel, dropped our buy-of-the-night, then headed out for supper.
had street food which is along the street next to our hotel.
Beers in thailand is cheap! // Phad Thai, just like a sweet & sour version of CharKueyTeow // charcoal-barbecue meat balls & fish balls.
Last but not least, Thai Foot Massage (200baht) which is also along the street to end the night. ( ˘ ³˘)
… to be continue.
Cheers. v(。-_-。)v
