I then discovered, DOUBLE EYELID TAPE. o(^▽^)o
However, this kind of double eyelid tape is not easy to use, and it’s very messy. I often have to apply super thick eye shadow to cover up the mess. But, I certainly don’t like to carry such heavy makeup wherever I go.
Later on, I was introduced to LACE EYELID TAPE. It’s definitely one of the most brilliant invention ever. ƪ(♥ﻬ♥)ʃ With this, it lessen the mess, and with me constantly practicing, it looks almost invisible (even with only minimal eye makeup applied). I was happy.
Back to reality, this is how I look like without double eyelid sticker/tape and enlarging lens. See the difference? 都說了，天下沒有醜女人，只有懶女人。ʅ(｡◔‸◔｡)ʃ
I had slowly got too dependent over it. I wouldn’t even step out of the house without the lace eyelid tape. Of course, I am aware that overdoing it will cause eye’s skin irritation and making it sag. It’s really bothering me, thinking how I would look like when I got older. I can’t be sticking double eyelid tape at the age of 80 right? ╥﹏╥
After much consideration, I had finally decided that I should get my eyelid done. ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ I visited ME Clinic for consultation, met up with the super lovely and bubbly Celeste. She explained to me that in the market, there’s two major categories of doing double eyelid procedure, Cutting and Non-cutting.
If go for cutting, there’s no U-turn, which means you might leave a scar behind so that it is hard for you to adjust the crease to be higher/lower and it cannot be removed if you don’t like the result. It’s definitely a big no no for an indecisive person like me, I could change my mind in like a few seconds. Fml. ƪ(‾ε‾“)ʃ
Non-Cutting method. Well, there are many stitching method in the market but most of them only last 1 to 2 years then the client have to redo again. (I was so upset, like, huh… do you mean I have constantly do it… T.T)
Celeste smiled, and introduced me the DST (Double Suture & Twist) procedure, it is a durable scarless procedure that can last more than 10 years’ time. & This can only be done by Doctor David within Malaysia, I was amazed. (*‿*✿)
I have it done right after I got back from Bali, on 24/6/2014 (Tuesday). First of all, doctor’s consultation, deciding whether to have high, medium or low crease. Also, to have Dr. David to explain further to me about the DST procedure, you can read more about it here.
Finally, the stitching process begins!
The first thing everyone asked me is, “is it painful?!” (⊙﹏⊙), “omg, so scary, it must be really painful right?” ヽ(ﾟДﾟ)ﾉ
Well, I don’t know about the others, but for me, it was PERFECTLY FINE! ୧(﹒︠ᴗ﹒︡)୨ (Doctor David is really good, It was so painless, that I almost fall asleep during the process; yes, I am not joking. Compare to the monthly period cramps that I’ve experienced, this is really nothing.)
Before Doctor David performs the procedure, he will injects local anesthesia on the eyelid to prevent pain (this is where you might felt a quick pinch). You will not feel any pain after the injection, only feel some touching sensation when Doctor is doing the work on your eyes. Haha.
p.s. – I went during my lunch break time, because the whole procedure is only 30mins.
Indeed instant eyes beautification, I went back to work right after that. If you are wondering how could I go back to work with such swollen eyes. (Even my mom was asking, “do you need to take leave again during the recovering process?”)
I put on my specs, and no one could tell that I actually have stitches on my eyes. The recovery speed is amazingly fast. Recovery speed is various from person to person, I am probably one of those that recovered really fast. I actually went out like normal right after the procedure. Usually, people would take about 14 days to recover. (✿◠‿◠)
DAY 4! Anyhoo, me being me (super indecisive, very pattern) (⌒_⌒;). I thought my crease isn’t high enough. So, I went back to Me Clinic to adjust the crease. This is the advantage of non-cutting procedure, you can still adjust if you didn’t like it. How awesome.
Tadah!!! this is me right after the crease adjustment. Doctor David actually re-stitched the middle point to make my crease higher. It’s a little swollen, but it wasn’t that bad, I even attended a meeting right after that.
DAY 8! It has pretty much recovered. I am extremely satisfied with the result, it looks exactly like I had my lace eyelid tape on! Now, it saves all the hassle of me putting it on every single day, & good news, I will not have saggy eye lid! ♡o｡.(✿ฺ｡ ✿ฺ)
At first, my mom and my boyfriend were still worrying what if it didn’t turn out as what I want before I went for it, but now both of them are happy with my new eye-lid. I am so glad that they like it as much as I do. ♥
Goodbye, eyelid tape! My eyelid now looks naturally beautiful. I am so confident that if I don’t tell, people would’ve thought that either I’ve my eyelid taped super professionally, or perhaps I am born with such beautiful eyelid. Hahaha.
To summarized, the advantages of DST:
1. Scar less (People wouldn’t even know that you’ve stitched your eyes!)
2. Lasting results (last for more than 10 years)
3. Invented by Japanese plastic surgeon, Dr Akihiro Minami (Thank you so much for this god-like invention)
4. Short recovery time: ability to return to work within a short duration (I proved it right!)
5. No removal of stitches needed
6. Natural looking (yes, you will look good even with no make up.)
7. Potentially reversible, should you change your mind (I did that.. haha.)
