Holla, I just got back from BANGKOK!
Yeap, I am there for the 5th time. (That’s how much I love BKK!)
I have pretty much been to all the touristy spot in Bangkok. Read more HERE.
Hence this round, instead of an touristy adventure trip, it’s rather a relaxing vacation.
We all know, Bangkok is popular for its’ world class hotel & shopping spots.
This time, we stayed at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
It is one of the 2016 Must Go Hotel in Bangkok.
155 Rajadamri Road, 10330, Thailand.
Phone:+66 2 126 8866
45 mins drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport;
25 mins drive Don Mueang International Airport.
“Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is close to shops, dining and Bangkok’s nightlife.”
That’s pretty much everything you need in Bangkok. Despite being in the centre of the busy Bangkok city, it offers an oasis of serenity amidst a bustling city. Girlfriends & I fell in love with the glorious garden setting of the hotel, the moment we stepped in, we are immediately put at ease from the hustle & bustle.
Don’t you love these hanging fresh roses?
The curved staircase; beautiful wall murals gave a sense of luxury!
We were also greeted by the friendly & helpful hotel staffs, most of them can speak fluent English & Chinese. The check in process is really quick! Love the efficiency.
The Room – We stayed in the Deluxe Room.
I loveeeeee the comfy bed..
& the super squashyyyy & flufffyyyy pillows! Ahhh!
Besides the large LCD TV, the huge washroom with the best bathroom amenities..
On the desk, there’s a smartphone with UNLIMITED FREE DATA & CALL CREDIT for you to bring out of the hotels. FB, Twitter & Instagram are pre-installed in the phone.
On the phone’s screen there’s thoughtful notes like…
“WELCOME, TAN TZIA TZIA”
“DONT GET LOST, BRING ME OUT! I HAVE DIGITAL CITY GUIDE & MAPS INSTALLED.”
This is really impressive!
I have not seen any hotel that provide facility like this!
Breakfast at Madison. It’s one of the best hotel breakfast I had.
They serve a really good selection of Chinese, Western, Japanese & Thai cuisine. From cooked-to-order omelets, english breakfast, smoked salmon salad, dimsum, fresh pancakes, fresh yogurts & muesli, fruit, and more, be ready to be spoiled with these choices.
Everything is delicious, but their pastries especially the chocolate croissant is seriously to die for! So good…
My stay with Anantara has been really pleasant! I will definitely love to stay here again!
If you are interested, check them out!
You can book your hotel through Traveloka, they have amazing deals starting from RM693/night!
Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is right beside the St. Regis Bangkok Hotel.
Us girls heard a lot of good review of Viu’s brunch buffet, & were really excited to enjoy this luxury treat (2,650 baht per person for the non wine option) together.
Viu, St. Regis Bangkok
Address: 159 Rajadamri Road, Bangkok 10330
Phone:02 207 7819
The brunch’s buffet is a combination of classy Western, Asian, and Thai dishes.
The whole place is set with luxury red and white tone.
We started off with the sashimi.
Salmon & Tuna.
The generous cheese selections.
Cheese fans, anyone?
The salad bar. I had heaps of “Smoked Salmon Ceaser Salad”.
Salad like this cost you at least RM29.90 in KL. & you have it freeflow here! Love it.
We purposely saved room for a staggering selection of desserts, including the chocolate fountain with fresh and dried fruits! You should never miss this!
& these chio looking chocolates are truly the BOMB, well-balanced with a pleasant bitter finish! So gooooood! It instantly satisfied all my chocolate crave. I am missing these already. T.T
Overall, the St Regis brunch might less impressive on the choice, but the quality of the food is going to make every baht spent well spent!
We skipped the street food this round, & went to Central World, hoping to find a good spot to have Thai food for dinner. Scouted around the 6th & 7th floor, and found this casual, upcountry, cozy, inexpensive restaurant — Kum Poon.
7/F, CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Rd, Bangkok, Thailand
We went in as most of the restaurant is packed with local diners. We assumed it is good!
(Well, locals usually won’t go wrong. Haha)
Phad Thai (125 baht)
I have always love phad thai, but Malaysia’s one are often disappointing.
Good thing is you can never get pad thai wrong in Thailand.
It has a good combination of sweet, sour, spicy & chewy! Mad love.
Seafood Tom Yum Goong (155 baht)
It is satisfying flavorful. It is so tasty that we are willing to endure the spiciness.
My #annoyingbff, adele, really loves this, she finished up almost half of it by herself. Haha.
Tum Thai with dried shrimp, peanuts, & salted eggs (85 baht)
This is the #mustorder everytime I come Bangkok!
& this did not disappoint me!
Minced Pork/ Larb Moo (160 baht)
Minced meat with spice, lemon grass, lime, cilantro, etc.
Simple yet delicious.
I finished half bowl of my rice with just this. That explained it all.
Thumbs up to the food & the good service.
p.s. – Our food is served within 10mins despite the crowd!
Chillax drink at WINE I LOVE YOU, The Groove, Central World.
I had Sangria, which I wish it was a little stronger.
Because it tasted more like a fruit punch.
Coronita, that tastes like a peach tea with a hint of alcohol.
I do really like the cozy ambiance, perfect when the live band starts playing.
But the food & drinks were just okay. ):
I went to Platinum Mall again, & spent a few hours day.
Despite a lot of rumors saying that the vendors have spike up the price, I still manage to get decent quality clothes that cost me as low as 150baht. I am spoiled with selection, everything is so pretty & still CHEAP!
One thing though, I REGRETTED BUYING ACCESSORIES here.
Night time, I went to SIAM MARKET.
I lose my mind!
The earrings are selling at quarter of the price compare to those I bought at Platinum Mall!
Generally, everything is selling at a lower price at SIAM MARKET (just that, you might have lesser choice).
My suggestions, to scout through SIAM MARKET first; then only head to Platinum Mall.
You will be able to get what you want with a lower price!
Wrapped up my trip with Thai Massages.
Head & shoulder massage for 270baht at CHAO 9! (just 2 mins walk from my hotel).
Overall, it is a satisfying relaxing trip!
I SHOPPED, ATE & had MASSAGE! That’s all I asked for!
If you are looking for a short getaway to recharge yourself, Bangkok can be a good choice.
